"During a one on one critique at the NIADA (National Institute of American Doll Artists) convention this year, I was introduced to a remarkable artist. I thought my job as a NIADA artist was to give her insight into dolls as art, but she instead ended up expanding the horizon for me! Her combination of soft sculpture, personal narrative and poetry created a kind of performance doll event that pushed the boundaries of what our genre can be. It is not something that can be described; you have to experience it for yourself! That artist is Jane Darin."
